What will everyone think? Where will we live next? Will I ever own another home? What do I have to look forward to? These, among many others, are questions people face when foreclosure hits their home. It’s very normal to face a myriad of fears when the bills are piling up and the out go of money supersedes the income. It’s easy to just not open the bills or even avoid getting the mail for days at a time for fear of one more bill coming that you just can not pay. Your thoughts start leading you down a depressed track. Just the thought of going to work to make more money seems pointless since it’s never enough to pay all those bills. You search the Internet for some hope and all you come across is flashing Internet pages saying "Stop Foreclosure Now" "Ten Tips to Avoid Foreclosure" or "Don’t Loose Your Home to Foreclosure". It’s hard to even read what they have to say when your emotions have taken over your reasoning and you just want to go back to bed.
Well it’s time to wake up, face reality and put a smile on your face knowing that foreclosure may have hit your home, but it doesn’t have to hit your hopes and dreams for a second chance. I know this is never what you planned for, I know that it is depressing, I know that life seems pointless, but there is going to come a point in time where you are going to have to move forward, and start over and decide "this is not going to ruin my life." So, why not make that decision now and not waste any more time in the past. Face the problems and then focus on the solutions. There is no time like the present to move forward with your dreams and plans and stop allowing the foreclosure to dictate your life and decisions.
Some suggestions to help you on your way are:
-Listen to some motivational tapes.
-Go to your local library and check out books on starting a new career and earning an income while pursuing your passions.
-Search the internet for a support group that helps people who have gone through financial loss and how to overcome it.
-Get out of the house and share your foreclosure story with someone else and help someone else who might be facing what you just went through.
-Seek counseling- there a several agencies that offer free counseling for foreclosure families.
Loosing your home to foreclosure is by far a nightmare, but it is not life-ending.
There will be other homes, jobs and opportunities; it’s just a matter of you finding them.
Stay positive and focus on what you want instead of what you lost and remember when foreclosure hits your home, don’t let it hit your hopes.
