Negotiate Those Points

When it comes to selling something, you are often asked to negotiate or "deal" a bit.

Has your agent ever asked you: "If we can't sell this house at your asking price, what are the steps you are willing to take?" You can ask a buyer this as well.

Many buyers and sellers can't seem to find the same ground in a transaction. Many buyers will stick by the $1,000 less that they've offered, while the sellers insists on that $1,000 or nothing at all.

Often, you have to remember that the whole transaction isn't a game in which one of you will win. You are both winning. One sells and one buys.

When it comes down that close with no meeting of the minds, you have some thinking to do. Ask yourself if you have the money. If you don't, the $1,000 is a breaking point for you. It is the necessary term for the mortgage to happen. The seller might just need that money as well for their next transaction.

Your agent would probably ask you: "Do you want another $1,000 from this guy, or do you want to sell the house?"

You have to take a look at the value of the home as well. Will you regret not purchasing this home? If you love the home and haven't found any others on the market that tempt you as much, then get over the $1,000 sticking point and do what it takes to purchase the home.
